Province of Sefrou: Mr. Brahim Abouzeid Appointed New Governor, Succeeding Mr. Omar Touimi Benjelloun

His Majesty King Mohammed VI chaired a ministerial council on Monday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, dedicated to approving a series of projects and decrees across various sectors, including the military, in addition to international agreements and proposals for high-level appointments.

Under the provisions of Article 49 of the Constitution, and following the proposal of the Head of Government and the initiative of the Minister of the Interior, His Majesty the King, may God assist him, appointed several walis and governors to positions in both central and territorial administration. One of the most notable royal decisions was the appointment of Mr. Brahim Abouzeid as Governor of the Province of Sefrou, replacing Mr. Omar Touimi Benjelloun.

Born on August 8, 1967, in the Province of Tiznit, Mr. Brahim Abouzeid is a distinguished figure in territorial administration. He holds a PhD in Pharmacy, is married, and the father of four children. Over the course of his career, Mr. Abouzeid has held several key positions. He served as a member of the House of Councillors from October 2003 until his appointment as Governor of Aousserd Province on January 22, 2009. He later held the same position in the provinces of Sidi Kacem and Settat.

Mr. Abouzeid has earned the trust of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the various roles he has assumed. His appointment as Governor of Sefrou marks a new chapter in his professional journey, taking charge of a province known for its economic and cultural significance.

This royal appointment is part of the ongoing modernization of Morocco’s administrative structure and reflects the King’s commitment to strengthening local leadership and improving administrative performance across all regions.
