Tragedy in Fès: Death Toll from Residential Building Collapse Rises to 9, with 7 Injured Including Children

In a tragic development following the collapse of a residential building in the Al-Hassani neighborhood (Ben Debbab) in the city of Fès, official health sources have reported that the death toll has risen to nine, while seven others are receiving treatment for injuries of varying severity.

According to the latest updated data, eight victims were pronounced dead at Al Ghassani Hospital, while a ninth person succumbed to injuries at Ibn Al Khatib Hospital despite intensive medical efforts to save their life. The injured include three children and four adults, who are currently under medical care. Their conditions range from stable to critical.

Since the early hours following the incident, Civil Protection teams have continued search operations beneath the rubble of the collapsed building, amid fears that more victims may be trapped. Local and security authorities are also continuing efforts to secure the area and launch preliminary investigations to determine the causes behind this devastating collapse.

The incident has sparked a wave of shock and grief among local residents, with growing calls to expedite investigations and identify those responsible—especially as similar incidents have occurred in neighborhoods plagued by deteriorating and unsafe buildings.
