The Ministry of Interior has intensified its on-the-ground efforts to combat the growing phenomenon of “stunt driving,” which has become a serious nuisance and safety threat for road users, particularly in public spaces and residential areas.
Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, in response to a written question from the Haraki group in the House of Representatives, stated that strict instructions have been issued to governors, local authorities, and security forces to implement appropriate field measures to curb these practices, in direct coordination with the relevant judicial authorities.
The minister noted that security forces are regularly and continuously carrying out campaigns to reduce this phenomenon, which involves not only vehicles but also motorcycles—especially those modified with altered exhaust systems and devices used to illegally boost speed, significantly increasing the danger to public safety.
Laftit stressed that any motorcycles found in violation are subject to technical inspection to verify compliance with legal standards, with the aim of taking appropriate punitive measures against offenders.
