Princess Lalla Hasnaa Pays Tribute to Azerbaijan’s Heroes in Baku

Baku: Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Rabat’s Cultural Heritage, visited Baku on Monday, undertaking symbolic visits to the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs, two significant sites in Azerbaijan’s history.

At the start of her visit, Her Royal Highness proceeded to the Alley of Honor, where she laid a wreath of flowers on the tomb of the late national leader Heydar Aliyev, expressing her profound respect and reverence for his memory. Upon her arrival at the Alley of Honor, Princess Lalla Hasnaa was greeted by Mr. Mohammed Orkhan, Senior Advisor to the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Subsequently, Princess Lalla Hasnaa moved to the Alley of Martyrs, a place dedicated to commemorating the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence. There, Her Royal Highness laid a wreath of red carnations on four of the martyrs’ graves, symbolizing deep solidarity and appreciation for their sacrifices.

In the same context, Her Royal Highness also laid a wreath of flowers at the Eternal Flame, which represents the enduring memory of these heroes and their timeless sacrifices.

The ceremonies were attended by the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid; the Ambassador of His Majesty the King to Baku, Mr. Mohamed Adil Embarsh; the Secretary General of the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Rabat’s Cultural Heritage, Lalla Nouzha Alaoui; and the Director General of the House of the Artisan, Mr. Tarik Sadik.

This noble gesture by Her Royal Highness reflects the deep historical and cultural ties that bind the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and underscores the mutual respect for the two nations’ symbols and shared history.
