Tragic Day in Boulemane: Military Academy Cadet Officer Dies in Road Accident

Boulemane: Grief and sorrow have enveloped the Boulemane province following the tragic death of a cadet officer at the Royal Military Academy in Meknes. The fatal road accident occurred on the National Road No. 15, linking the city of Missour and the town of Outat El Haj, on Friday evening.

Local sources reported that the victim, a third-year cadet officer at the military academy, died instantly as a result of a violent collision between his private car and a larger vehicle used for tourist transportation. The accident also resulted in injuries to two other individuals who were in the tourist vehicle, and they were urgently transported to Al Massira Hospital to receive necessary medical attention.

Al Khawarizmi High School in Outat El Haj, where the deceased received his secondary education, expressed its shock and deep sadness at this immense loss. In a moving condolence message, the school paid tribute to his good character and academic excellence during his time as a student, extending heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his family.

Meanwhile, while investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of this tragic accident, Mohamed Chouki, a Member of Parliament from the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, has urgently addressed a written question to the Minister of Equipment, Transport, and Logistics. He called for the immediate installation of a fixed speed control device on National Road No. 15 at the entrance to the Outat El Haj district, in order to curb the recurring traffic accidents that threaten the lives of road users and residents in the area.

In his question, the parliamentarian highlighted the increasing complaints from residents of the Al-Qawarite area in the Rmila commune regarding the growing danger posed by traffic on this road, due to truck and car drivers disregarding speed limit signs, which are set at 60 kilometers per hour in this zone. Residents are demanding enhanced monitoring and stricter penalties for offenders to ensure their safety.
