A customs officer tragically died in a fatal hit-and-run accident on National Route 1, between Agadir and Tiznit, specifically in the Sidi Abbu area, which is part of the Massa commune in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha.
The accident occurred when the victim, a member of the mobile customs unit, was performing his professional duties at a control point in the early hours of Monday. A speeding truck loaded with sheep suddenly struck him directly, causing critical injuries. He was rushed to the military hospital in Dcheira El Jihadia, where he passed away.
Immediately following the accident, Royal Gendarmerie officers and local authorities arrived at the scene. A thorough investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of the incident and establish legal responsibilities, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
