On the morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the local prison of Bourkayz in Fes hosted the official ceremony marking the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration. The celebration took place in a festive atmosphere filled with moments of appreciation and recognition for the staff working in the sector.
This annual event served as an opportunity to highlight the major achievements in the management of correctional institutions, as well as to reaffirm the vital role played by the General Delegation under the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, particularly in promoting the human dimension and the social reintegration of inmates.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered by the director of the prison, in which he reviewed the key developments witnessed by the sector at both the local and national levels.
The program also featured the screening of an institutional video documenting the major projects and initiatives carried out in recent years. In addition, a tribute segment was held, during which royal decorations were awarded to several staff members in recognition of their competence and dedication. Awards for the outstanding male and female employees of 2024 were also presented.
This celebration reflects the Delegation’s commitment to valuing the efforts of its staff and embodies its ongoing dedication to developing the prison system in a way that upholds human dignity and enhances opportunities for reintegration.
