Mohammedia: Morocco’s Under-17 national football team has achieved a historic feat by winning the Africa Cup of Nations for the Under-17 category. They defeated their Malian counterparts 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the final match held this Saturday at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.
After a goalless draw at the end of regulation time (0-0), the “Atlas Cubs” managed to overcome Mali in the penalty shootout, securing their first-ever African title in this age group on home soil.
Once again, young Moroccan goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch delivered an outstanding performance, undoubtedly earning the title of man of the match by saving two penalties from the Malian side, thus guiding the national team to the championship trophy.
This title marks the Moroccan national team’s first triumph in the Africa Cup of Nations for the Under-17 category, an achievement that adds to Moroccan football’s record and reflects the significant work being done at the youth level.
