Casablanca Police Arrest Norwegian National Wanted Internationally in Multi-Million Tax Evasion Case… Key Seized Items Revealed

In a high-level operation that underscores the effectiveness of international security cooperation, officers from the Casablanca Judicial Police Division successfully arrested a 63-year-old Norwegian national on Thursday, April 17, following an international warrant issued by the Norwegian judicial authorities.

The suspect was apprehended in downtown Casablanca after a precise investigation and a background check through the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL). The search confirmed that he was the subject of a Red Notice issued by INTERPOL Oslo, on suspicion of involvement in a major tax evasion case.

According to initial information obtained by Fes News Media, the suspect is accused of embezzling more than 500 million Norwegian kroner from the Norwegian government by submitting fraudulent invoices in order to reclaim VAT refunds for a number of private companies he owns.

The individual has been placed under legal procedures relating to extradition protocols. Meanwhile, the INTERPOL Rabat National Central Bureau (NCB), under the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), has officially notified its counterpart in Oslo of the arrest to initiate procedures for potential extradition.

This operation highlights Morocco’s firm commitment to strengthening international security cooperation and intensifying efforts to combat transnational crime by tracking and apprehending internationally wanted suspects in coordination with global partners.
