Police officers from the Tetouan Security Directorate, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, successfully thwarted a major drug trafficking operation on the evening of Tuesday, March 11. This operation led to the seizure of 17,505 hallucinogenic pills of the Rivotril type and the arrest of four individuals suspected of involvement in a criminal network specializing in the distribution of psychoactive substances.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the suspects were caught in the act, and a search of their utility vehicle resulted in the discovery of the seized narcotics.
The detainees have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover the full extent of this criminal network and arrest any remaining accomplices.
This operation is part of the ongoing intensive security efforts to combat drug trafficking and the distribution of psychoactive substances, aligning with the national strategy to fight organized crime.
