Oujda police services successfully arrested five minors on the evening of Friday, March 7, who are suspected of involvement in a case related to rioting and violence linked to sports hooliganism, as well as causing intentional injuries through arson.
According to the initial investigation details, a dispute broke out between supporters of two local football clubs, the majority of whom were minors. The conflict quickly escalated into stone-throwing and the use of an incendiary bottle, which resulted in injuries to one person. These criminal acts were documented in a video that was shared on social media platforms.
As a result of the immediate intervention by police officers, four minors were arrested while actively participating in the stone-throwing. Ongoing investigations led to the arrest of a fifth minor, suspected of being involved in setting the fire using a bottle containing flammable materials.
The suspects are currently undergoing judicial questioning under the supervision of the relevant public prosecution office, in order to uncover the details and circumstances of this case. Meanwhile, investigations continue to arrest other individuals involved in these criminal acts.
