The Government Council held a meeting on Thursday, March 6, 2025, corresponding to Ramadan 5, 1446, chaired by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, during which several draft laws were approved and senior positions appointments were made.
The Council approved a draft decree-law concerning the reform of Regional Investment Centers, presented by Delegate Minister Karim Zidan, aimed at improving the business climate and supporting small and medium enterprises.
The Council also approved a draft decree regulating public fundraising operations and charitable aid distribution, presented by Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, which establishes authorization and monitoring procedures.
In industrial development, the Council approved a draft decree to establish an Industrial Acceleration Zone in Ben Guerir in the Marrakech-Safi region, presented by Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour.
The new appointments included:
- Mohamed Khalfaoui as Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education
- Bilal Hajjouji as Director of the National Professional Office for Cereals and Pulses
- Abdelhadi Sbia as Director of Rural Development
- Lamia Ghoti as Director of the National Institute for Agricultural Research
- Mohamed Amine Lamrani as Director of Administrative and Legal Affairs
- Bochra Cherif as Director of Education, Training and Research
- Abdelhakim Oragh as Director of Fisheries Activities Control
- Mohamed Ahmamou as Director of Maritime Training
The Council also reviewed the statute of the Arab Center for Social Policy Studies and Poverty Eradication in Arab Countries, which Morocco signed on March 13, 2024.
