As part of the humanitarian initiatives overseen by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the “Ramadan 1446” Operation has arrived in Ifrane Province, providing support to needy families across several rural and urban communities.
Launched on Tuesday in Ifrane Province, this national initiative aims to provide food aid to the most vulnerable families in the communities of Daya Oua, Ifrane, Azrou, Ben Smaim, Tigrigra, Tamahdit, Ain Lhou, Sidi Mkhefi, Oued Ifrane, and Tizgit. The operation will benefit approximately 10,338 families in vulnerable situations across the province, enduring difficult economic conditions, both in rural and urban areas.
This national initiative is carried out under the high guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija launching the “Ramadan 1446” Operation on Monday in Bourgogne district, Rabat, in the presence of various officials.
The “Ramadan 1446” Operation aims to distribute nearly 34,280 tons of basic food items, including flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, vermicelli, lentils, and tea, to nearly one million families across the country’s provinces. The total budget allocated for this operation is 330 million dirhams.
This year’s operation introduces the Unified Social Register for the first time, updating the lists of beneficiary families, ensuring that aid reaches the most needy groups, especially widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Notably, 74% of the families benefiting from this initiative are located in rural areas, spread across more than 1,000 communities throughout the kingdom.
