The Regional Human Development Committee (CPDH) in El Hajeb held its first meeting of 2025 at the provincial headquarters last week, approving 36 new projects with a total budget of 17 million dirhams. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to promote local development and improve living conditions for residents.
A significant portion of these projects focuses on infrastructure and essential social services, with eight projects approved under the Infrastructure Gap Reduction Program, amounting to 5.89 million dirhams, aiming to equip underserved areas with better facilities.
As part of social protection efforts, the committee approved two projects dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, with a budget of 4.2 million dirhams, reinforcing the commitment of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) to improving the living conditions of those in need.
The economic inclusion and income improvement sector also received notable attention, with 13 projects worth 2 million dirhams targeting 230 young people in the province. These initiatives seek to promote entrepreneurship and create sustainable job opportunities.
Additionally, the committee allocated funds for three projects aimed at enhancing maternal and child health, as part of a broader effort to strengthen human capital for future generations. Furthermore, ten projects were dedicated to education and youth development, with a total budget of 5 million dirhams. These projects include school support programs for students in boarding schools and rural areas, the equipping of a children’s development center in El Hajeb, and the purchase of six school buses to combat school dropout rates and ensure equal educational opportunities.
The presented data highlighted a positive track record for INDH in the province over the past five years, with 581 projects and 29 initiatives approved, totaling 192 million dirhams—of which INDH contributed 185 million dirhams. These projects were distributed across 88 infrastructure and social services projects, 53 projects and 9 initiatives for vulnerable populations, 283 projects and 10 initiatives for economic inclusion, and 157 projects and 10 initiatives focused on maternal and child health, education, and youth development.
This first 2025 meeting reaffirms the developmental approach taken by El Hajeb’s Regional Human Development Committee, emphasizing balanced and sustainable growth. It also underscores the commitment of local stakeholders to spatial justice, enhanced public services, and empowering youth with promising economic opportunities, aligning with the aspirations of residents for a better future.
