In preparation for the 2030 World Cup: The National Airports Office in Morocco Decides to Remove Traditional Security Devices to Facilitate Smooth Passenger Access

In an effort to improve passenger experience and speed up traffic at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, the National Airports Office has decided to remove traditional security devices, such as scanners and gates, from the airport entrances. This step is a precursor to implementing this experience at other airports across the country.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive modernization strategy aimed at reducing wait times and improving passenger accessibility.

The change aims to streamline passenger movement within the airport, allowing passengers to reach security checkpoints more quickly, thereby accelerating the overall entry process. This initiative is part of the National Airports Office’s efforts to develop its services and ensure passenger comfort by updating the security system and promoting technological innovation.

In this regard, Hicham Rahil, Director of Mohammed V Airport, stated that relocating the security devices to the main entrances not only speeds up passenger arrival but also contributes to the complete redesign and organization of the system while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security. He added that this change was made possible through joint coordination with the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), and the Royal Gendarmerie.

Rahil noted that this move is part of the “Airports 2030” strategy, which seeks to enhance passenger experience and improve service efficiency at various Moroccan airports. He also pointed out that the new system will be gradually implemented in other airports in the country, starting with Marrakech Airport in the coming days, with additional measures to improve service effectiveness and quality.

For its part, the National Airports Office (ONDA) confirmed its commitment to turning Moroccan airports into a model for accessibility and security, in line with the latest global standards in the field.
