The Moulay Yacoub Regional Delegation for Health and Social Protection, in collaboration with the Scientific Council of the region, organized an awareness-raising meeting against measles. This meeting, held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, was part of the efforts to implement the strategy of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Fes Meknes region, with the aim of catching up and vaccinating children under the age of 18.
The meeting opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an opening speech by the President of the Scientific Council, who explained the objectives of the meeting and the foundations of the partnership between the Regional Delegation and the Scientific Council. The meeting focused on the epidemiological situation of measles in the region and the role of different actors in achieving the desired goals.
A presentation was given on measles, including its definition, complications and methods of prevention, especially through vaccination as a preventive measure that guarantees individual and collective protection. The meeting witnessed positive interaction and extensive discussions, with attendees showing their responsible involvement in working to cooperate to eradicate measles in Bouhamroun.
The discussions included a plan to organize sensitization sessions for parents and guardians in various mosques in the region, in collaboration with the Regional Delegation for Health and Social Protection. This program aims to strengthen cooperation between all stakeholders to achieve the goals of measles awareness and prevention.
These efforts are part of the ongoing efforts to promote public health in the region, and reflect the commitment of local authorities to cooperate with various partners to achieve public health goals.
