Many residents of the community of “Kiko” expressed their dissatisfaction with the deteriorating environmental situation, as some alleys have turned into pools of stagnant water that constitute a fertile environment for the breeding of insects and mosquitoes, which increases the risk of spreading diseases, and residents emphasize that this phenomenon has worsened in recent months due to the absence of necessary interventions to drain water and repair infrastructure.
Dangerous potholes increase traffic risks
In addition to the swamps, the community’s streets suffer from the spread of deep potholes that impede traffic, both for pedestrians and vehicles, leading to serious accidents, especially at night or during rainfall, and residents stress the need to repair these damages that threaten their safety on a daily basis.
Demands for urgent intervention and radical solutions
In light of this situation, Kiko residents and local activists are calling for the intervention of the collective council and regional authorities to find radical solutions to these issues, rather than just temporary measures that do not achieve any real change, and citizens are calling for a comprehensive plan to improve infrastructure and address the shortcomings that the community has been suffering from for years.
