Amid recent developments in the file of educational staff, the National Office of the Educational Administrators’ Union held a meeting on Sunday, February 9, 2025, where it strongly condemned the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports’ reversal of the negotiation approach it had been following with educational staff and their representative unions, particularly the Educational Administrators’ Union.
The National Office of the Union confirmed that the Ministry has closed the door to dialogue, bringing matters back to square one after a period of easing tensions in the educational sector. The Union warned of any renewed tensions among educational administrators due to the exclusionary approach and the obstruction of implementing the provisions of Decree No. 2-24-140 issued on February 23, 2023.
Demands of the Educational Administrators’ Union:
- Approval of a Specific Statute for Educational Administrators: Emphasizing the professional uniqueness of this category.
- Increase in Supplementary Compensation: Including it in pensions, in recognition of the efforts of educational administrators in the educational system.
- Compensation for Affected Administrators: Those whose promotions for the year 2022 were compromised.
- Expedited Financial Settlement: For educational administrators working in newly established institutions.
- Review of Housing Compensation: For non-residents, and an increase in the lump-sum compensation for travel for educational administration staff.
- Establishment of a Fixed Monthly Allowance: For educational administration components in leading institutions.
- Compensation for Responsibility in Training Associations: Such as the Support Association for the School of Success, the School Sports Association, and the School Cooperation Support Association.
- Compensation for Night Work: For general supervisors in school dormitories.
- Strengthening Educational Institutions with Human Resources: To alleviate administrative burdens.
- Addition of Educational Administration Staff: For collective schools and independent schools in rural areas.
- Compensation for Additional Burdens: For managing primary education in elementary schools.
- Granting Seconded Educational Administrators: A two-year seniority credit.
- Compensation for Those Affected by Decree 2.18.294: And granting them seniority credit.
- Compensation for Administrative Burdens: For the academic years 2020-2022.
- Equivalence of Educational Administration Training Diploma: With a Master’s degree.
- Compensation for Affected Administrators: From the 2015 to 2023 cohorts.
- Improvement of Working Conditions: And reduction of weekly working hours.
- Providing Security for Educational Institutions and Administrative and Educational Staff.
- Expediting the Organization of Educational Administration Competitions: To address the severe shortage.
Union Warnings:
The Educational Administrators’ Union sounded the alarm, warning the Ministry of the dangers of its new approach, which involves suspending dialogue and neglecting the files of educational staff in general, and educational administrators in particular. The Union held the Ministry responsible for any renewed tensions within the educational system.
Call to Action:
The Union called on its members and all educational administrators across all regions to unite and rally around their steadfast union, and to be prepared to engage in all forms of escalating struggle to defend their legitimate and just rights and demands.

The Union reaffirmed its commitment to its principled and steadfast positions, rejecting any draft law that undermines the constitutional right to strike, or any pension reform that targets employees’ rights. It also reiterated the necessity of continuing dialogue to achieve satisfactory results that meet the aspirations of educational administrators.
