In coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGTS), the judicial police at the Marrakech Security Directorate managed to deal a heavy blow to drug trafficking networks. Security operations carried out on Wednesday and Thursday, February 5 and 6, resulted in the seizure of 6934 hallucinogenic tablets and the arrest of four people, including a pharmacist, aged between 25 and 33 years, on suspicion of involvement in trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to informed sources, the first suspect was arrested in flagrante delicto for possessing and selling hallucinogenic tablets in one of the city’s neighborhoods, where a search operation resulted in the discovery of 1,500 Zepam tablets in his possession. Ongoing investigations led to the arrest of three other people, including a pharmacist, suspected of being linked to this criminal activity, and an additional 5434 pills were seized from their possession.
The detainees were taken into custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, as part of the judicial investigation aimed at identifying the possible extensions of this criminal network and identifying the rest of those involved in these illegal activities.
