Yesterday, Wednesday, February 5, a security operation led to the arrest of a 48-year-old woman by members of the Judicial Police at the Marrakech Security Directorate, as part of an extensive investigation into a case related to human trafficking and the luring of minors, where the suspect is suspected of luring five victims, including four minors between the ages of 13 and 17.
According to preliminary sources, the suspect exploited children and girls in difficult circumstances, using coercion and violence to lure them to participate in criminal activities, most notably begging and engaging in acts of corruption. Investigations indicate that the criminal operation was practiced inside a house in Marrakech, where the property was used as a base to carry out these illegal acts.
As part of the victim support efforts, the Cell for the Care of Women and Children Victims of Violence was tasked with providing them with the necessary care and support, while investigations continue to determine the involvement of other possible parties in this criminal network. The suspect was taken into custody, pending the continuation of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent Public Prosecution Office.
The investigation continues to uncover all possible extensions of this case, while emphasizing the keenness of the security authorities to protect the rights of children and girls and hold accountable anyone who contributes to their exploitation and harm.
