Under the instructions of Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tahraoui, Salima Saassa, Regional Director of Health and Social Protection in the Fes Meknes region, together with Mustapha Maaza, Governor of Taza region, oversaw the launch of the services of 14 health institutions in the region, after their rehabilitation and equipping, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Taza region.

This initiative comes within the framework of strengthening the Kingdom’s health infrastructure, in implementation of the High Royal Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to launch a profound reform of the health sector, contributing to the implementation of the social protection universalization workshop. It also comes in the context of the project to rehabilitate and equip 1,400 primary health institutions at the national level, with the aim of strengthening the health offer in the Fez Meknes region.

The health institutions that came into service included 5 health centers in Taza region, including:

A kidney filter center, which was built in partnership with the Taza Regional Municipality.
Three first-level urban health centers: Bab Al-Zeitouna, Al-Wahda, and Al-Jayarin.
A diagnostic center for tuberculosis and respiratory diseases.
Two health centers in the Meknes Municipality, namely: The urban health center “Wajh Arous” and the rural health center “Dar Um al-Sultan”.
In the Boulman region, five health centers have been put into service, namely:

The urban health center “Mysore”.
Two village health centers “Oued Bouzazia” and “Wizght”.
Two village dispensaries “Madoul” and “Hama Jaber”.

In the Sefrou region, two health centers became operational:

Mubarak El Bakkai Urban Health Center.
A reference center for reproductive health.
These health services benefit more than 164,000 inhabitants of the region, who will have access to basic health services including general medical consultations, maternal and child health follow-up, chronic disease tracking, nursing services and primary treatments, health awareness programs and school health.

These centers are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and high-quality biomedical equipment, in addition to being linked to an integrated information system to improve patient guidance and provide treatments closer to the citizens, allowing patients to benefit from an electronic medical file that ensures follow-up treatment at the regional and national levels.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection is mobilizing qualified human resources to ensure the provision of medical and therapeutic services of the highest quality, with the aim of improving health care in the targeted areas.
