The Spanish Civil Guard announced last Monday the arrest of seven individuals suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS. The operation was carried out in close collaboration with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
According to an official statement from the Civil Guard, three of the suspects were apprehended in the province of Toledo, thanks to precise intelligence provided by the DGST regarding individuals in an advanced stage of radicalization.
This operation underscores the significance of international security cooperation. The close coordination between Moroccan and Spanish security agencies reflects a shared commitment to combating terrorism and enhancing regional security and stability.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and their potential connections to other terrorist networks. This marks another success in countering terrorist threats through swift and effective intelligence-sharing between Morocco and Spain.
