Moroccan Authorities Arrest French National Wanted for Attempted Murder in International Cooperation Effort

In an effort to enhance international security cooperation and combat transnational organized crime, the Marrakesh Police arrested a 43-year-old French citizen on Monday, February 3, 2025, based on precise information received from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The arrest was made in response to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities in connection with a criminal case involving attempted murder.

The arrest took place following a carefully executed operation in Marrakesh, where the suspect’s identity was verified through a check in the “Interpol” database. The operation revealed that the individual was subject to an international Red Notice, which had been circulated based on a judicial order from the French authorities.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested French national is wanted in France to serve a sentence related to an attempted murder case. In line with legal procedures, the suspect was placed under provisional detention pending the completion of extradition procedures. French security authorities were notified of the arrest, and preparations are being made to send the necessary extradition documentation.
