Deputy Mayor of Fez: “Certain Parties Seek to Sabotage the Transport Crisis Solution to Replace City Bus through Suspicious Means”

In an exclusive statement to Fes News, a deputy mayor of Fez, who preferred to remain anonymous for fear of political retaliation, revealed that certain parties within the municipality are actively obstructing efforts to resolve the city’s urban transport crisis. He explained that these parties are attempting to terminate the contract with the current “City Bus” company, driven by suspicious political interests aimed at bringing in a different company.

The deputy mayor stated, “There are parties exploiting the current situation and attempting to sabotage any agreement with the current company to force its exit, paving the way for an alternative company with potentially private interests linked to it.”

He added that these actions harm the interests of the city’s residents, who rely on urban transport daily, emphasizing that sector stability should be prioritized over narrow political calculations.

The official pointed out that the municipality must continue its efforts to reach fair solutions that ensure service continuity and improvement for the public good. He stressed that such practices undermine trust in collective work and risk escalating tensions in a sensitive issue like urban transport.

This statement sheds light on the internal challenges hindering the resolution of the transport crisis in Fez, amid growing calls from citizens to keep the sector free from political conflicts and ensure a transportation service that meets their expectations.
