At the beginning of the public session for the monthly oral questions directed to the Prime Minister, held yesterday, Monday, January 27, 2025, the Speaker of the Council, Merywa Al-Ansari, announced Constitutional Court Decision No. 25/250. Al-Ansari explained that the decision mandates the removal of Mohamed Boudrika, elected from the local electoral district of Fida-Mers Sultan, Casablanca, from his seat in the House of Representatives.
The decision results in the vacancy of the seat previously held by Boudrika, with an invitation to the next candidate on the list to fill the position, in accordance with the legal procedures in place. Al-Ansari noted that the Constitutional Court based its ruling on the provisions of the Constitution and the relevant laws, aiming to enhance integrity and transparency in the electoral process while ensuring compliance with the legal framework that governs it.
This announcement underscores the crucial role of the Constitutional Court in safeguarding the democratic process and reinforcing the principles of transparency and accountability within elected institutions.
