Regional Office of Educational Administrators’ Union in Fes Announces Protest and Night Sit-in on February 5, 2025

In a statement received by “Fes News,” the Regional Office of the Educational Administrators’ Union in Fes announced a protest and night sit-in scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The protest will begin at 11:00 AM at the Regional Directorate of Education headquarters, with participation from all educational administrators. Members of the Regional Office plan to conduct the sit-in later that evening.

This decision follows an urgent meeting held on January 23, 2025, during which the office discussed a series of issues negatively affecting the operations of the Fes Regional Directorate of Education. Key concerns include the failure to implement ministerial and regional memos regarding the filling of vacant administrative positions, as well as irregularities in task assignments, such as unauthorized appointments to general supervisory roles.

The statement also highlighted a lack of seriousness in addressing administrative correspondences, arbitrary handling of issues, and the concealment of “phantom employees,” exacerbating internal problems within educational institutions like Abdelkarim Addawdi High School.

Criticism was also directed at planning policies, citing cases of classroom construction in schools that did not need them, while neglecting those in dire need. This has hindered efforts to eliminate triple-shift schedules in many schools despite ongoing efforts.

The statement further pointed to deficiencies in equipment and office supplies, emphasizing a lack of sufficient materials for educational administrators. It also mentioned delays in disbursing examination compensation and the exclusion of administrative staff from institutional support allowances during interim periods.

In conclusion, the Regional Office called on the Regional Academy for Education and Training in the Fes-Meknes region to send a committee to investigate these violations, which had been repeatedly raised during meetings with the Regional Directorate. It also urged educational administrators in Fes to stand united in defending their legitimate rights and their vital role within the educational community.
