National Police Directorate Suspends Officer in Casablanca Over Harassment Allegations

In its commitment to uphold principles of integrity and ethics within the security institution, the Director General of National Security issued a decision to temporarily suspend a police officer, a rank of “Moqaddim” (Police Sergeant), following suspicions of his involvement in a criminal case under judicial investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor. The officer in question works in the Public Security Division in Casablanca.

This disciplinary action was taken pending his appearance before the National Police Disciplinary Council during its next session, to examine the charges against him and make appropriate decisions.

It is worth noting that the police services in Casablanca opened a judicial investigation after receiving a complaint from a woman accusing the officer of harassment while performing his duties along the city’s coastal strip. The officer was subjected to questioning under the supervision of the public prosecutor before being referred to justice on January 23.

This action reflects the National Police Directorate’s commitment to strictly and fairly applying the law, as well as its dedication to instilling values of transparency and justice within the security institution.
