Party Criticizes Election Outcomes and Pledges to Champion Citizens’ Rights

A political party has reaffirmed its position on the September 8, 2021, elections, describing them as a setback that weakened the democratic process and eroded public trust in institutions. The party asserted that the election results reflected the dominance of a coalition of money and power, producing what it termed a “hybrid majority.” The party emphasized its commitment to continuing as a constructive opposition force, advocating for urban issues and meeting the needs of residents.

In assessing its performance, the party commended the contributions of its councilors in local councils. It highlighted their proposal to name a street or square in the city after the late freedom fighter Mohammed Ben Saeed Ait Ider. The proposal received approval from the Agdal district council, and the party urged the completion of procedures to formally adopt it during the city council’s February session.

The party expressed satisfaction with the major projects underway in Fez, particularly those aimed at improving infrastructure. It called on responsible authorities to enhance transparency, communication, and social inclusion in the implementation of these projects. Additionally, it praised the campaign to reclaim public spaces to organize urban areas, urging the sustainability of these efforts while providing alternative solutions for those affected.

The party also voiced concerns over the government’s plans to pass controversial laws, such as the strike law and pension system reforms, viewing these as threats to social and labor rights. It pledged its full commitment to fighting these initiatives and protecting the rights of citizens, especially workers.

In conclusion, the party renewed its call for the release of all political detainees, journalists, and activists arrested in connection with social movements. It urged the opening of a new political chapter to restore hope for Moroccans in a brighter future across political, economic, and social dimensions.
