In partnership with the Regional Blood Transfusion Center, the “Civic Competence for Development Association” organized a blood donation campaign at Dar kortoba Institution in Fes. This initiative was a response to the urgent appeal issued by the Regional Center due to a critical shortage in blood supplies.
Speaking to Fes News, Ms. Leila Mernissi, the president of the association, stated that the campaign, under the slogan “A Drop of Your Blood Beats for Others,” aims to support blood stock levels and promote a culture of donation among young people. She emphasized that the initiative reflects an awareness of the importance of social solidarity, particularly for patients in dire need, such as accident victims, cancer patients, and women facing complications during childbirth.
Ms. Mernissi highlighted that donating blood is not only a humanitarian duty but also a patriotic act. She noted that campaigns like this help instill humanitarian values among students and youth. She also praised the significant turnout of donors, underscoring Morocco’s strong culture of generosity and goodwill, as evident in the enthusiastic participation of students.
