The regional judicial police in Fes launched an investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday, January 22, to determine the criminal actions attributed to a 39-year-old man suspected of involvement in forgery and impersonation of a legal professional.
Initial information suggests that the suspect was posing as a lawyer to deceive his victims. He allegedly claimed to have the ability to mediate in order to secure judicial rulings permitting polygamy, in exchange for substantial sums of money. He was arrested red-handed while receiving 20,000 MAD from one of his victims, promising to intervene and secure a favorable court ruling.
A search conducted by the police uncovered documents and personal files suspected of being linked to the alleged criminal activities. The suspect has been placed under provisional detention while judicial investigations continue under the supervision of the public prosecutor, aiming to uncover the full details of this case.
