The Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Meknes, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, and the Federation of Parents’ Associations, organized a communication session aimed at boosting awareness for the success of the national campaign to catch up on measles (Bouhamron) vaccinations for children under 18. This campaign was launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on October 28, 2024.
The session featured detailed presentations by officials from the Health Monitoring Unit and the School and University Health Program. These presentations covered measles, its symptoms, treatment, and prevention methods, emphasizing vaccination as a critical component of the National Immunization Program. Efforts to ensure the involvement of all stakeholders in the campaign were also highlighted, with the ultimate goal of achieving both individual and herd immunity to prevent the disease and its complications.
Participants expressed their readiness to continue engaging in this awareness-raising initiative and to encourage families to vaccinate their children. Vaccination remains the only effective preventive measure against measles. This session is part of a series of communication efforts organized by the Regional Health and Social Protection Delegation, in coordination with other delegations in the Fes-Meknes region, to ensure the success of this national campaign.
