Meeting Between Fes Municipality and the Regional Chamber of Handicrafts Highlights Strategic Collaboration

On Friday, January 17, 2025, Abdel Salam El-Bekkali, President of the Fes Municipality, hosted a high-level delegation from the Regional Chamber of Handicrafts of the Fes-Meknes Region at the municipality’s headquarters. The delegation was led by Mr. Naji Fakhari, President of the Chamber, accompanied by his deputies Mr. Mohsen Hammama (First Vice-President), Mr. Anwar Assal (Second Vice-President), and Mr. Ibrahim Mastour (Fifth Vice-President), along with the Chamber’s Director.

This meeting aimed to reinforce the partnership between the two institutions and served as a platform to discuss pressing challenges facing traditional artisans. The discussions also explored ways to further develop this vital sector, which remains an integral part of the city’s cultural and economic identity.

Both parties underscored the importance of renewing their existing partnership to ensure sustainable development within the handicraft industry. They emphasized the need to support artisans by improving their working conditions and enhancing their competitiveness in both local and international markets.

The discussions also included formulating a strategic vision to strengthen cooperation between the Municipality of Fes and the Regional Chamber of Handicrafts.
