Civil Protection and Police Intervene in Suspected Suicide Incident in Fez

At approximately 11:45 PM, Civil Protection units, along with officers from the police, judicial police, and forensic police under the Fez Police Department, arrived at Apartment No. 7 on the second floor of Almaz Saiss subdivision.

With the presence of security authorities, Civil Protection personnel opened the apartment door, uncovering the body of a 58-year-old man lying on the floor, covered in blood. A 12-kilogram gas cylinder was found open near the entrance.

A foul odor permeated the premises, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation to determine whether the incident involved suicide using gas.

According to the victim’s sister, who resides in the apartment across the hallway, the deceased had been struggling with family problems. The victim was married and had a son currently in his second year of medical school.

The body was transported to the Dahr El Mehraz morgue by a vehicle from the “Nissan” mortuary service. A medical autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
