A special source for “Fes News” revealed that the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region and local elected officials, held a successful and crucial meeting to reconsider several vital projects in the city, aimed at enhancing Fes’s readiness to host the World Cup and accelerating the pace of developmental projects.
Among the projects discussed was the rehabilitation of Florence Square, where it was agreed to create two underground levels as a parking facility with a capacity of up to 450 cars, in addition to transforming the first floor into a world-class park that would add beauty and charm to the area.
The meeting also covered the project to modify the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, where it was decided to change its path to the center of the road instead of the right side, with the removal of the median strip separating the two directions to increase road space and improve traffic flow.
The source confirmed that the meeting demonstrated a strong commitment from all parties to ensure the success of these projects, which aim to enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of life in the city, with a focus on Fes’s readiness to host the upcoming global event.
It was noted that attention is now directed towards accelerating the implementation of these projects and ensuring they are carried out according to the highest standards, befitting Fes’s status as one of the key cities participating in hosting the World Cup.
