Najm Bohouda Shines in Moroccan Football and Aspires for Promotion

Najm Bohouda Sports Club continues its remarkable performance in the Premier Division of the Fez-Meknes Regional Football League, leading its group with a perfect 9 points after securing a valuable 3-1 away victory against Taza Olympic, marking its third consecutive win this season.

The club, established in 2015, stands as the sole representative of the Taounate province in the Premier Division, succeeding the historic Union of Taounate which has relegated to the First Honor Division. The club successfully achieved promotion to the Premier Division this season after topping the league standings last season under the leadership of local coach Majid Boulkrish.

The club enjoys strong support from the Bohouda Municipal Council, which provides an annual grant of 110,000 dirhams in addition to transportation support. It also receives backing from businessman and Municipal Council President Abdellatif Al-Fouikar, along with the Provincial Council, which provided a grant of 30,000 dirhams last year.

The club is expected to witness a qualitative leap with the imminent launch of the Bohouda Municipal Stadium project in the “Chataba” forest. The project, with a total cost of 8 million dirhams, will be implemented through a partnership between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the Bohouda Municipal Council, with the Regional Delegation of Water and Forests allocating one hectare for its construction.

Despite its continued success, the club still conducts its activities on the dirt ground of Al-Kaada stadium, amid a severe shortage of sports infrastructure in the province, which has only two grass fields out of 49 municipalities.

Club officials look forward to greater support from regional and provincial authorities, particularly in providing a team bus and additional financial support to continue training youth and children, and meeting the growing requirements of the club, which aspires to promotion to the Second Amateur Division.

Najm Bohouda represents a successful model of cooperation between political and civil society sectors in sports, and stands as one of the most prominent successful development models in the Taounate province.
