A joint security operation between the National Security Forces and Customs at the El Guerguerat border crossing, south of Dakhla, successfully thwarted an international drug smuggling attempt involving a large shipment of cocaine.
Through meticulous border surveillance and thorough inspection, authorities intercepted this shipment, which consisted of 36 plates hidden in the cabin of a cargo truck from a West African country. The seized drugs weighed 37 kilograms and 635 grams of cocaine.
The 30-year-old Moroccan driver was apprehended, and specialized security services have launched an investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution to identify all parties involved in this international criminal activity.
This successful security operation falls within the framework of the intensive efforts made by the General Directorate of National Security to combat international drug trafficking and the smuggling of psychotropic substances into Morocco.
