Rabat, September 19, 2024 – Mohammed Sabbari, Deputy Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, held a meeting with a parliamentary delegation from the Culture and Education Committee of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on Thursday in the capital, Rabat.
A statement issued by the House of Representatives indicated that this meeting highlighted the depth of friendly relations between Morocco and Vietnam, recalling the historical milestones that strengthened the ties between the two countries. Sabbari emphasized the shared history of both nations in their struggle for independence, pointing out that the “Bab Al-Maghribia” (Moroccan Gate) monument in northern Hanoi stands as a living witness to the shared historical memory.
Sabbari expressed the House of Representatives’ readiness to invest in all opportunities to deepen bilateral relations at all levels, affirming that Morocco considers Vietnam a friendly gateway in Asia.
For his part, the Vietnamese delegation, headed by Ha Tfa Van, Chairman of the Culture and Education Committee, expressed pride in this meeting and readiness to cooperate on issues of mutual parliamentary interest. Van reviewed the history of distinguished relations between the two countries since 1961, calling for elevating them to higher levels, considering Morocco a gateway to Africa.
In the presence of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco, Le Kim Kyu, both parties agreed to enhance bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation and coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums.
This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to consolidate diplomatic and parliamentary relations between Morocco and Vietnam, reflecting the mutual desire to strengthen cooperation in various fields.
