Several villages and villages in the Taounate region are facing a difficult situation due to the shortage of potable water, as citizens are looking forward to the completion of projects to connect their areas to the “watering can” system.
These initiatives aim to alleviate the suffering of the population resulting from the successive years of drought.
According to identical media sources, more than three years ago, a group of communities, in cooperation with the competent authorities, started implementing projects aimed at connecting affected villages to the water waterer system derived from dams.
In this context, the inhabitants of Fannassa Bab El-Hit, such as Beni Kazine, El Korna and Rasha, are waiting for the completion of the water supply project, as these villages in particular suffer from the drying up of their wells, forcing residents to search for water in neighboring villages, which requires them to travel long distances.
Two years ago, the community of Fnassa Bab al-Hit began expropriation procedures to implement the project to provide residents with potable water from the Asfalou dam, and also began connecting the villages with watering cans, while the residents of the community of Tissa are looking forward to finalizing the project to provide the city with water from the Idriss I dam.
It should be noted that the community of Bani Walid relies on the Bouhouda Dam for its water supply, with high hopes that the water supply projects will include all mountain villages that suffer from a severe shortage of this vital substance.
