According to local sources, a family from Ain Aicha community in Taounate region suffered food poisoning on Wednesday after eating red watermelon fruit.
According to the available data, 13 members of the family, who reside in the Oulad Haddou roundabout, had gone for recreation in a dhayyat near the Arghioua community, and during this recreation, they ate a lunch that included the red watermelon fruit, which they later indicated was the cause of the poisoning.
The same sources reported that the family members were transferred to a hospital in the city of Fez to receive the necessary treatment, after their health condition worsened due to the absence of a hospital or emergency unit in Ain Aicha and the regional hospital in Taounate.
While 09 members of the family were able to leave the Hassan II University Hospital in Fez after their health condition stabilized, four children are still receiving treatment there.
