The Grand Stadium of Fes will have a capacity of 52,000 seats after the expansion in preparation for hosting matches in the 2030 World Cup

Well-informed sources revealed that the Grand Stade de Fès will undergo extensive expansion during the second phase of the Moroccan stadium development program, aiming to increase its capacity from the current 35,000 seats to 52,000 seats.

This expansion aims to improve the stadium’s infrastructure and facilities to meet international standards, in preparation for Morocco hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup semi-finals, should Morocco win the honor of hosting this global event.

The expansion process will include the construction of new stands, covering all stands, and improving stadium facilities, including changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and areas designated for journalists.

After the expansion, the Grand Stade de Fès will have almost the same capacity as the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain, which has a capacity of 53,000 seats.

This expansion is an important step in Morocco’s efforts to develop its sports infrastructure and improve its ability to host major sports events.
