Fès-Meknes, Morocco (Fas News) – According to sources in the Fès-Meknes region, and in response to high royal directives, local authorities are accelerating the implementation of 340 development projects and programmes aimed at promoting economic and social development in the region and achieving comprehensive transformation in various aspects of public life. The Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, Said Azniber, is in charge of implementing these directives quickly and efficiently to ensure the achievement of the desired goals and improve the standard of living of citizens.
Context
This initiative is part of a long-term strategic vision aimed at achieving spatial justice and enhancing the competitiveness of the region. The development plan includes modernising infrastructure, developing vital economic sectors, improving social services including education and health, as well as promoting rural development and reducing disparities between urban and rural areas.
Objectives of the projects
These projects aim to:

Details of the contract
The contract signed between the State, Fez-Meknes region and other stakeholders includes the participation of several ministries and public institutions, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Education, as well as the councils of prefectures and regions and several local authorities. The total cost of the projects is estimated at 29.3 billion dirhams, spread over several years (2024-2027) with financial contributions from the various contracting parties.

The contracting parties are committed to providing the necessary funding, mobilising human and material resources, and supervising the implementation of the projects according to the specified timetable. Each party is also required to carry out the required studies and provide the necessary real estate to complete the projects.
Organisations in charge of following up on implementation
Central Command Committee: Chaired by the Minister of Interior, it is responsible for general supervision and ensuring the proper implementation of the projects.
The regional committee to accompany the implementation of the contract: Chaired by the Governor of Fez-Meknes and the President of the Regional Council, it is responsible for following up on implementation and coordinating efforts between the various stakeholders.
Regional and regional technical committees: These committees are responsible for field follow-up and provide technical and administrative support to ensure that the work proceeds according to the set plans.
