One person was killed and another seriously injured in a tragic accident that occurred on Friday, when an electric pole fell on a tractor which was traveling on a road in the Ajbabra community in the Taounate region.
According to multiple local sources, the accident occurred when an electric pole broke away from its base and fell on the tractor, killing the driver on the spot and seriously injuring his companion.
Immediately after being notified of the incident, the competent authorities from its various agencies moved to the scene, where the injured was immediately transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary aid, an investigation was opened by order of the Public Prosecution to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident, and the body of the victim was transferred to the mortuary of Taounate Hospital.
Followers of local affairs expressed their dissatisfaction with the repeated incidents of falling electricity poles, calling for the need to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens on the roads and determine responsibilities.
