Judicial Police Unit in Al-Ayadha Security District in Sale Was Forced to Use Their Service Weapons

On the evening of Wednesday, September 10, judicial police officers in the Al-Ayadha security district of Sale were compelled to use their service weapons during a security intervention to arrest a 40-year-old man with a long criminal record. The suspect was in an abnormal state, exhibiting aggressive behavior and posing a serious threat to the police officers by wielding a large knife.

According to preliminary investigation data, police intervened to stop the suspect who was causing chaos in a public street and threatening the safety of people and property with a large-sized knife. When confronted by the police patrol, the suspect violently resisted, injuring one police officer on the arm with the knife. This prompted the officers to fire warning shots and several live rounds that struck the individual.

An ambulance was immediately dispatched to transfer the injured suspect to the hospital, where he later died. The injured police officer received necessary medical treatment. The judicial police, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, continue to conduct the investigation to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
