The regional road 707, approximately 29 kilometers long and connecting the provinces of El Hajeb and Ifrane in Morocco, is currently undergoing a widening project aimed at doubling the road’s width to improve infrastructure and user safety. Recent reports indicate that construction progress has reached 65% in the Ifrane segment and 30% in the El Hajeb segment. The project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2025 as part of strategic initiatives to enhance regional connectivity.
This initiative began in December 2024 with the first phase, addressing longstanding safety concerns following serious traffic accidents on this route, including incidents recorded in 2023. Although some visitors complained during the summer of 2025 due to traffic disruptions caused by ongoing works, no significant delays have been officially reported as of early September 2025. Authorities have urged the public to stay updated through official announcements from the Ministry of Equipment and Water for any changes to the schedule.
