The Moroccan Organization for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption announced the selection of Mr. Abdelatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, as the Best Security Personality of the Year 2025. This honor recognizes his distinguished professional career filled with achievements and his dedication to serving the nation.
Mr. Hammouchi received this award for the second time, having previously won it in 2022, reflecting the consistency of his efforts in developing the security institution. The organization praised the Director General’s efforts in modernizing the security infrastructure and enhancing its intelligence and technical capabilities, which have helped position Morocco as a key partner in combating terrorism and organized crime at both regional and international levels.
On the domestic front, the organization highlighted that Mr. Hammouchi has adopted a balanced security approach combining effectiveness with respect for human rights and humanitarian considerations. This is reflected in improving working conditions for security personnel, enhancing the institution’s openness to civil society, and consolidating principles of good governance, making him a model of responsible and successful security leadership.
