In a tense early morning operation on Friday, April 25, a police officer from the Jerada Regional Security Directorate was forced to fire two warning shots to subdue a violent suspect during a dramatic arrest.
According to security sources, the 34-year-old suspect, known for his criminal record, resisted arrest fiercely and unleashed aggressive attack dogs on the police officers. The intervention was part of an operation led by the judicial police, after the suspect was identified as the subject of multiple national arrest warrants for drug trafficking and illegal alcohol distribution.
The officer discharged his service weapon into the air to neutralize the immediate threat posed by the dogs, ensuring the safety of the police team.
The operation successfully led to the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of one kilogram of cannabis, along with several bottles of illicit alcoholic beverages found in his possession.
The detainee has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, as authorities work to uncover the full extent of his criminal activities and identify any potential accomplices.
