Informed Source: Hundreds of Taxi Drivers in Fez on “Blacklist,” Imminent Withdrawal of Trust Licenses for Non-Compliance

Fez: An informed source has revealed to “Fas News” that the concerned authorities in the city of Fez are in the process of taking decisive measures against a significant number of taxi drivers (Category 1 and 2), which could reach the point of withdrawing their “trust licenses” within the next few days.

The same source explained that a “blacklist” has been prepared, containing the names of hundreds of professional drivers who have been found to be non-compliant with the required conditions and standards for obtaining or maintaining the trust license, a necessary document for legally practicing the profession of a taxi driver.

The source, who requested anonymity, added that the process of withdrawing licenses is “imminent and will take place within days,” noting that this measure comes within the framework of regulating the sector and ensuring the commitment of professionals to the laws and procedures in force, thereby guaranteeing the quality of service provided to citizens and their safety.

The “trust license” is considered a fundamental certificate proving the professional and ethical eligibility of the driver, and its withdrawal means preventing the holder from practicing the profession, which could have significant repercussions for the drivers concerned and for the regularity of taxi transport services in the scientific capital.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by the Wilaya of the Fez-Meknes region, the security services, or the bodies supervising the transport sector to confirm this information or clarify the details of the planned measures and the precise reasons behind them. Professionals and the local public opinion await the issuance of official clarifications in this regard.
