Moroccan Authorities Arrest French-Tunisian Citizen Wanted Internationally

National security officers at Marrakech Menara Airport successfully apprehended a 40-year-old French citizen of Tunisian origin in the early hours of Tuesday, February 11. The suspect was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities.

The arrest followed a security check that revealed the suspect’s name in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). He was wanted internationally for alleged involvement in cases related to drug trafficking and psychotropic substances.

According to security sources, the suspect has been placed under provisional detention pending extradition proceedings. French authorities have been notified of his arrest, and legal procedures are underway to facilitate his transfer.

This operation highlights Morocco’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly in tracking down internationally wanted criminals and dismantling illicit networks.
