The Marrakech-Safi region has announced the organization of the second edition of the Regional Fair for Social and Solidarity Economy, which will take place at Place 16 November in Marrakech from January 27 to February 2, 2025. This event is held in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy – State Secretariat for Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, under the theme: “Towards a Fair and Inclusive Social and Solidarity Economy.”
According to the press release from the organizing body, this edition aligns with the ministry’s national strategy aimed at fostering the development of the social and solidarity economy sector and enabling the Regional Council to fulfill its responsibilities in promoting this vital sector and marketing regional products. The fair is also part of an agreement aimed at funding and organizing the event to strengthen territorial marketing and highlight the sector’s competitiveness as a key driver of economic development.
Objectives of the Fair:
The fair aims to:
- Provide a platform for marketing and promoting the products of social and solidarity economy organizations.
- Highlight the role of this sector in achieving sustainable development.
- Enable visitors to discover cooperative and professional association products, particularly in agriculture and handicrafts, and encourage solidarity-based purchasing.
Diverse and Extensive Participation:
The event will host approximately 170 exhibitors from craft, agricultural, and service cooperatives across the region, along with cooperatives from other parts of Morocco. Additionally, it will feature participants from African countries that share cooperative ties with the Marrakech-Safi region. The fair will also include training workshops conducted by expert professionals to enhance participants’ skills in management, accounting, e-marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Spanning an area of 2,000 square meters, the fair will feature:
- Exhibition and marketing spaces.
- An institutional pavilion for public entities and banks.
- A dedicated space for training workshops.
- Musical and folkloric performances showcasing the region’s cultural diversity.
The event will conclude with a celebration of leading cooperatives that have delivered outstanding contributions to the social and solidarity economy, reinforcing the fair’s role as a platform for supporting local development and showcasing the region’s competitive strengths.
