The sixth edition of the International Film and Heritage Festival kicks off today in the city of Midelt, continuing until December 27, 2024. This edition comes as a tribute to the spirit of the late Moroccan artist Naima Lamcharki, in appreciation of her distinguished artistic career and rich cultural contributions.
The festival witnesses a notable presence of elite Arab and foreign filmmakers, as it celebrates the Italian director Arrigo Barbaglio, who specializes in theater, screenwriting, and literature. Lebanese director Hala Mourad, who combines film directing and television presenting, is also participating, along with Libyan director and producer Khalil Al-Mazoughi.
The festival hosts a distinguished group of guests of honor, led by Moroccan-Canadian director Bahia Soussi-Gagnon, and Spanish film actor Luis Fernández de Eribe. Saudi director Rima Majed Al-Majed and Omani film director and producer Hamid Said Al-Ameri are also participating in the festival.
This festival serves as an important platform for cultural and artistic exchange between Morocco and various countries of the world, emphasizing the role of cinema in preserving and documenting human heritage.
